ARTISTIC APPROACH
Intention requires attention. Every photograph begins with a generous measure of love.
I love the freedom to explore anything, without restraint. Every subject is an invitation to look beyond the obvious, to move past first impressions and find the perspective that reveals its singularity. People, objects and the textures of everyday life become, through light, composition or a shift in point of view, territories of exploration where reality reveals itself in unexpected ways. I follow conviction rather than trends.
Curiosity is my compass. It invites me to look without preconceptions, to embrace both the simplest details and the unexpected, to move freely from one universe to another. That freedom feeds my eclectic approach, sometimes leading me toward abstraction, when reality itself becomes a mirror reflecting the invisible.
I enjoy searching, exploring, observing, waiting… then taming that quiet fault line where everything suddenly falls into place: a light, a texture, the glimmer of a surface, a colour, a geometry, a presence. To move closer, step back, to play, sometimes gently bending reality through a touch of playful displacement, always with respect and curiosity, until the unexpected appears, that wonderful accomplice.
To take a familiar subject and give it an off-centred angle is to offer an alternative vision, to reveal the hidden facets of the ordinary and stir the imagination. It is within this fragile balance, between the obvious and surprise, graphic rigour and the freedom of seeing, that these photographs take shape. I do not seek to impose an interpretation, but rather to open a space where the eye can linger, question, imagine… and perhaps even be challenged.
I most often work as a duo with the filmmaker Romain Claris. Our perspectives, born of two generations and carried by two distinct media, complement one another around a shared subject to draw from it a coherent whole, a richer proposition.
At the heart of every image lies something real, whatever its origin. What matters is the pull it creates, its power to seduce and move us, carrying us elsewhere, into a world each of us shapes according to our own dreams.
I simply hope that my images gently transport the one who beholds them, and open to them the incredible, surprising riches of our imaginations.
